Abstract The interior of an ice sheet consists layers accumulated snow, which contain important information on accumulation and dynamics that are imprinted layer shapes over time. This work describes how changes in influence the stratigraphy sheet. thickness each at present day depends both effect dynamic thinning after its deposition. An isochronal numerical model is used to simulate evolution a 2-D, idealized while explicitly representing layers. A series simulations was carried out quantify anomalous different locations times has stratigraphy. These form basis linear response function. second set with more sustained then describe large-scale long-term impacts layering as well test quality approximation. aim examine whether effects can be extrapolated from small differential changes. result confirms certain degree linearity between may exploited for future inverse modeling applications.
